He served as Vice President, Associate Director of Corporate Communications for Deutsch, Inc., a $2.5 billion top-ten national agency, and co-managed its five-person communications department. His efforts helped evolve the company’s corporate reputation and led the agency to be recognized on the Advertising Age “A-List” in 2008.
As Director of Public Relations for Merkley + Partners, Scott helped grow the advertising agency 3x, from a downtown boutique with $165 million in billings to a national competitor with more than half a billion in billings. In the first half of 1999, he was tapped as the defacto Director of Public Relations for client jetBlue Airways for its launch, which was one of the most successful in aviation history.
During the late 1990’s, Scott also helped grow and maintain the creative reputation of ad agency “hot shop” kirshenbaum bond & partners, as well as many of its clients.
His client experience includes: General Motors, Mercedes-Benz USA, Citigroup, IKEA, Old Navy, DIRECTV, Olympus, United HealthCare, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Sony PlayStation, Dr. Pepper, Fila, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Netscape, Foot Locker, Rockport, Mexico Ministry of Tourism and Target Stores. Scott serves on numerous national and local boards and committees that keep him well connected with the advertising and technology communities.
Scott Lahde is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with 20 years experience across the worlds of media, technology, ad tech, publishing and advertising, as well as their intersection.
Most recently, he led corporate marketing globally for YuMe – a leading provider of digital video brand advertising solutions – before, during and after its August 2013 IPO. His purview included managing a global team and multiple agency and vendor relationships, as well as: communications/PR, event marketing, advertising media & creative, web marketing, SEO, lead gen, marketing automation, speaking engagements, thought leadership, analyst relations, client communications, content strategy, social media and industry relations.
Just prior, his tenure with Yahoo! included senior posts in brand marketing, executive and corporate communications (including serving as company spokesperson) as well as communications around mergers and acquisitions and for Latin American operations.
Prior to his West Coast experience, Scott spent 14 years in New York City, helping to build some of the nation’s most prominent advertising agency brands, as well as growing many of their powerhouse national clients.
